Lisa is a certified maternal mental health specialist from the Postpartum Stress Center. Lisa will identify if you are experiencing something greater than the baby blues and help move you through the complex emotions of the child bearing years. She has extensive experience working with clients who struggle with adoption, anxiety, depression, infertility, loss and trauma as it relates to this unique time in a person’s life.
When a loved one is experiencing a perinatal mood disorder, this can be a confusing and overwhelming time for everyone. Partners and family members need compassionate support and accurate information about the disorder, its impact, and the trajectory for recovery. Just as you prepared for childbirth together, couples need guidance and information about what to expect, treatment options, and support needs during this time. In a family education session, a skilled mental health professional will take the time to explain common signs/symptoms, treatment options including integrative wellness approaches, and can answer questions to put everyone at greater ease.
Lisa specializes in the treatment of the adolescent population. Self injury, depression, school issues, and anxiety. Lisa works closely with both the teenager and parents to provide needed support. The teen years are difficult for most but an adolescent struggling with mental health issues can be downright scary. She will support and teach your family and teen healthy coping skills that can be used throughout the lifespan, moving the family through this difficult and disruptive time. Lisa makes a point to stay on top of current research and trends of social networking that is so valuable to the teenage experience. Knowing and understanding the virtual world that many of our kids live in can help to connect adults with this new generation. She provides trainings to adults on multiple topics educating caregivers on best practices when working and supporting children and teens. She’ll provide trainings in an experiential group setting for kids and teens to help increase self esteem and address common issues today’s kids are facing.
Trainings: Lisa provides trainings for practitioners and clinicians on the unique treatment of perinatal mood disorders. Practitioners will learn how properly screen, diagnose, and treat this very treatable situation.
